i've NEVER seen the accord titled most reliable car in the world... and from the people i know with them, i wouldn't list it as such either.

define best?

fastest? most reliable? best mpg? most comfortable? best handling? hauls the most people in a passenger vehicle? some blend of the above?

fastest = bugatti veryon
most reliable = something toyota probably.
best mpg = a diesel european compact. ford fiesta 5 door diesel is the current record holder for a 5 seater. somthing over 70 mpg combined
most comfortable = maybach
best handling = porsche 911 series
people carrier = chevy suburban 9 seater

compromise = bmw 3 series diesel. gets 35+ combined mpg, lasts to 500k, comfortable, best handling sedan readily available, 0-60 in 5.5,
and if you live in bad weather, perhaps the audi a4 diesel awd.

Worth a mention. The Hindustan Ambassador, previously Morris Oxford. Wonder how many have been produced?

Then there is the Beetle.

And the Trabant, well, OK maybe the Trabnt is a step too far but it kept people moving and still does though if it catches fire you need to be up wind......

What a question, everyone's going to have a different opinion.

Perhaps the Porsche 911, I'm not a huge fan of the car but it has a huge following, it's a legendary car.

In my opinion, the classic shape Saab 900, before GM ruined it.

Also, to the guy below me, THE FORD MONDEO?! Bland, cheaply built a*se of a car.

Ford Mondeo. Acheives the magnificent from the mundane. It's quick, comfy, economical, handles brilliantly with loads of space and yet as dull as a Hershey bar. Either that or a Ferrari 250 GTO.

It is also titled the most reliable car in the world and wins awards every year.
