| How do I find my Linksys password? | |||||
|
Ok....so I set up my home network about a year ago and now I have a new device that I want to connect (Wi-Fi) to my network. My PDA finds the name of my network but I've forgotten my password. How do I find this without having to reset everything? Honestly, you might as well reset it. That's the fastest and only way to retrieve your password as far as I know. What settings will you actually lose beyond your wireless encryption settings and password? I doubt you have to manually set up your addresses and ports, so you can reset it and having it back to normal and protected in less than 5 minutes. EDIT: Oh, do you mean you can't get into your router's settings, or you just can't connect to it wirelessly? If it's wireless, just go into your router's settings and reset the wireless access and choose a new password, or use the password that should be listed there. The default password for Linksys Routers is "admin".... If your setup wizard is asking for any Network Key or Passphrase and if you caled Linksys to setup your Router the Network Key is your 10 digit Telephone No.... While setting up the Router it prompts to a password....the default password is "admin".... Or If you can access your router you can go to the wireless tab and reset it. If not and your can not access your router (forgot the password and the default does not work) then you will have to reset the router and reconfigure it from scratch. This LINK will show you how to access your router with the default settings. Hopefully i helped. Want online help for it you can get here http://www.iyogi.net Tiffany you need to login to your router (check this link if you don't know the address) http://compnetworking.about.com/od/worki...
then look for a page that says wireless/security and that should contain the login key |
