| Configuring a wireless router for more than one user on a single computer? | |||||
|
I recently went wireless on the desktop computer we have at home. I have set the computer up so that myself, mother and father all have our own individual profiles, ie, there are options to log into one of 3 profiles when XP has started up. I have myself set as the administrator of the computer. The wireless system works perfectly for me, I click my profile icon, windows loads up, I open internet explorer and there is my homepage. Whenever either of my parents logs into their profile, internet explorer loads fine, as does outlook and outlook express, but whenever they try to open up another IE browser window, a dialogue box appears asking for a dial up username and password. This does not happen when I am using the computer. How does this happen and why? After becoming sick of having to stick to one IE window and trying to solve the problem with no success, I decided to disconnect the router and go back to the Thomson Speedtouch modem that I received when I intially upgraded from dial up to broadband. I have now bought myself a laptop and want to get the wireless network up and running again, as I don't want to keep swapping the modem between the desktop and laptop, and also having the IE problem too. How can I solve the problem of the computer asking for a dial up connection? you need to co into the connection setting of ie and tick the check box "never dial a connection" Technology-
