Is it the phone or the provider?
I'm becoming not to happy with the phone company, and not land line, companies that promise perfect coverage and don't deliver.

I have Verizon Wireless, and my girlfriend has Sprint, and one of us are losing the messages, it's either she isn't receiving them or I'm not sending them, either way I'm getting annoyed.

Could it be the phone that have the problems?
Or would it be the providers?

Either way next year my contract is up with Verizon and I'm not to sure if I want to keep them anymore, I'm buying a BlackBerry Curve, should I keep Verizon? Or ditch them?

Also if you could answer if it's the phone or the provider, that would be great.

Note: If you could provide some explanations it would be greatly appreciated.
I experience the same thing sometimes between my boyfriend's cell phone and mine. We both have Blackberries, but on different providers.

I am fairly certain that it is a problem between the providers, and not the phones themselves. Usually when I can't send/receive messages with my boyfriend, I will test it with my sister who is on the same provider as me and it works fine. I assume it would be the same for you... a problem between Verizon and Sprint.

I don't have any really scientific explanations... I think it's just about the connection between the different towers used for different companies. And stuff gets backed up. Sometimes if I try to send too many messages to my boyfriend (if it's not working), all of a sudden he'll get them in a big flood and vice versa. They get stuck in that middle ground...

If you want to avoid it, when your contract is up I would suggest switching to Sprint. That way at least with your girlfriend there would be no troubles. I definitely know how annoying it is!

Personal experience!
I think it's the carriers. Verizon is renown for the best coverage. Sprint is renown for awful coverage. Check Consumer Reports. I've had both. Sprint was horrible when I signed with them and kept promising they would be getting better. That was 10 years ago and the places that were dead zones then are still dead zones. I had Verizon for 4 years and it was perfect. I only switched to AT&T to get the iPhone and it was hard to leave Verizon.

Been a customer of all of them
Messages between carriers often have issues. It's not a problem with Verizon or Sprint, it's often a problem with the communication between the two and how full the lines are on each one respectively.
I've got cricket and my bf has sprint, sometimes he doesn't get my messages.. maybe it's sprint? Because everyone else I text (even internationally) get my messages
dont trip, you aint alone. i have verizon and sometimes i dont get messages from my gf. she has att.
I have Sprint and my phone works fine.
